50 shades of grey

I remember a time when 50 shades of Grey by E.L James was all I could talk about. It was 2012 when I purchased the first book and was literally engrossed. I was in class but I wasnt really "in class". Haha..

Anastatia Steele reminded me alot of myself. And dont get me started on how Christain Grey revs my engine.  Id make The Red room of Pain, my room anyday.

Although the book have been top seller and what everyone was talking about, after reading the first book I felt like it was over rated and like I had read novels that were much better. I guess thats debatable. But the marketing and publicity is the book recieved was just brilliant PR.

When I purchased the second book, I got bored. Most of my friends were borrowing it anyway and then I pretty much lost interest after a while. I was gifted the third book by a friend and I havent even read the first page as yet. (I will eventually!).

Oh so the point of my post? A few friends and I made a promise to each other that when the movie gets released we would definatly check it out together. An officail trailer of 50 Shades of Grey has been released. And it looks promising. OMG IM SO EXCITED!!!

Valentines 2015 Please get here already. Ive been patient long enough.
Do check it out :)

A party at Jimmy's Killer Prawns

It was my darling cousin Zubairs's 21st birthday on tuesday and being in the last 10 days of Ramadan we figured we would still celebrate but notch the scale down abit. We ended up doing everything but that.

We sat long and hard thinking of an appropriate venue and Jimmys was decided. For Bhana's 21st we went to Jimmys aswell and it was really a horrible experiance. Since then they have been under new management. We were however skeptical as to having a function there again.

So we booked a reservation for 20 people (as the originals decided it should only be the hybrids that attended so they didnt "spoil"our fun) so everything was organized by us. The little ones. A few days before the time Bhana was still being a stressball and kept making lists just to make certain she covered everything.

As we sorted out presents weeks before the time, Jewels and I arrived at Canal Walk at 4 to get everything sorted and set up.(Yes set up, because we awesome like that)

So our Party at Jimmys:

We reserved a table which was right by the Buffet and that walked onto the Patio which is so gorgeous and also made it secluded and made a party somewhat more private. Management aswell as staff was really fantastic as they just gave us free reign and we did as we please. Also in addition, the manager organised an extra table for us to set up the gifts and that Fabulous cake.

Jewels made these ties herself with 2 serviettes OMG im So proud of her creativity
We ordered about 12 Helium ballons at the party shop next to La rocca and I had a few people wishing me as Happy birthday as I walked with. Haha So fun!

Our waiter, Cloudio seriously gave us the best service ever. For starters the had soup and each person gets a starter plate of 6 prawns. Savouries were put on the table (But im not sure if this only happens in Ramadan) and dates were provided. The Buffet costs R99 per person and the menu is apparently different each week but you do hve the option of ordering from the set menu in store.

The starter prawns
We didnt know that savouries was going to be given so we brought our own. Typical

For dessert we had a Peppermint fridgetart, A pineapple and cream set and a Fruit&Yogurt tart (Which was includedin the buffet just btw)

That Lindt Milkshake
How amazing doesnt this cake look!!! Thank you to Oupa's sister

Big ups to this main man Cloudio_ somebody please give this guy a Bells
Okay so before I end off there was something that bothered me though, Like by the name you would assume that the prawns would be out of this world, but there was nothing killer about them. But other then that no complains about the food as it was so delish!

Jimmy's is located in the corner of the food court at Canal Walk which is rather hidden (Next to Mcdonalds). I definitely cant wait to go back. (Just thinking of those ribs is making me hungry)
What an amazing evening with amazing people.

Song of the day: Tu mere samne

This morning I woke up with this song playing in my head. One of the TABillion bollywood songs that I love but 1 of the very few that doesnt have 6754 wardrobe changes. Oh and the words are too much man.

Its from the Movie Chori Chori which was made in 2003. It stars Ajay Devgan(Who is one of my fav's) and Rani Mukherjee. Basicly Ajay is Inlove with some chick and his and Rani are together in an attempt to make her jealous. But the song is self-explanatory anyway.

Event: Disney on Ice

Its still the last 10 days of Ramadan so attending this event is going to be difficult, even though Id really love to go. I would be very unfair of me not to share this with you.

Disney On Ice skates into the GrandWest Grand Arena for another action-packed ice spectacular from Wednesday, 23 to Sunday, 27 July 2014.

The show is aptly titled 100 Years of Magic and, as the name suggests, it celebrates the beloved storytelling franchise’s century of producing animated films and breathing life into some of cinema’s most recognisable characters. With Mickey and Minnie Mouse as guides, the spectacle promises to whisk audiences, both young and old, away on a captivating journey through decades of famous tales, magical worlds and some 60 of Disney’s most renowned stars.

Along this stroll down memory lane, audiences can look forward to seeing the key characters and singing along to tunes from all-time blockbuster and family-favourite films, like The Lion King, Aladdin, Toy Story, The Incredibles, Beauty and the Beast, Mulan and Finding Nemo.

Fly on a magic carpet and discover a whole new world with Aladdin and crew, fight crime and bad guys with a family of Incredibles and explore the Pride Lands with Simba, Timon and Pumbaa. After that, take on some hairy beasts and conquer your fears with Belle and Mulan before heading down to the bottom of the ocean for an aquatic adventure with Nemo and friends.

Even if your little ones aren’t familiar with the tales of the Beauty and the Beast or Aladdin though, they’ll love the upbeat sing-a-long tunes and adorable characters synonymous with Disney’s happy endings and exciting journeys. What’s more, the first-rate production’s team of international award-winning figure skaters, high-energy choreography and imaginative set changes will surely transport audiences into the animated movies that childhood dreams are made of.

Hands down, this show is an experience that remains a not-to-be-missed calendar highlight.

Gaza under attack

Its nothing new hearing about Palestine being under attack. Its been going on for as long as I can remember. I was probably in Grade 5 when I went to my first march against the ordeals the Palestinians are going through. For the past few days my newsfeed on all social media platforms has been bombed bombarded with gruesome pictures of the civilians being tortured and killed mercilessly. I can hardly look at most of them without getting all teary eyed and squeamish.

Alhamdullilah, By the grace of God, I joined over 30 000 people on Wednesday morning who gathered in Cape town for a march  to free Palestine. "Forward we shall march. Forward we shall march. Forward we shall march to a free ,free palestine"was the song of the day all the way through to parliament. It was heartwarming to see people from all ethnic backgrounds and religions standing together for a united cause. The peaceful protest went on for about 2 hours. We have entered the last 10 days of fasting and the best would be to pray for our brothers and sisters in Gaza.

I loved how a prayer was done by different religious leaders to start the march on a high note.
The amount of people that attended spoke for itself.
According to Tashreeq Truebody from Radio786 the death toll now stands at 292 in 11 days of Israeli onslaught. YOu dont have to be muslim to stand up for Gaza, You just need to be human.

Anyone wanting to assist can do so by making a donation to The Gift of the Givers foundation that contributes towards medical supplies in Palestine.

Check out their website at : http://www.giftofthegivers.org/

Let us bow our heads, even if just for a minute and pray for the souls who were matryed and those going through this difficult time.
